Where you see an insurmountable, daunting task, I see a drawer’s, a cupboard’s or a room’s potential. I love and thrive on the challenge. The bigger, the better.
I am happy to work with you as much as you prefer. I can go it alone or I can enable you to become a part of the end result. I would love to coach you on decluttering and “letting go”. To provide you with the tools, encouragement and confidence to continue on your own. With, or without me, I want to help you begin your home’s transformation “One Drawer At A Time.” If you live in Saskatoon or surrounding area, check out the decluttering and organization I can provide you...
Estate Cleaning/Clearing
Having to clean and clear out a residence to prepare it for sale is a major undertaking. In the event a family is dealing with the passing of one parent and the relocation of another to a smaller residence there is the matter of downsizing.
Another issue is the instance where it involves residence in a rental property.
I will require a walk through of the property with a family member or agreed representative in order to formally document all items in every room. This is to provide complete transparency for items in the home that may be of sentimental or monetary value. It will also assist in creating a detailed list to help you to determine what is to be saved, stored, donated or disposed.
Regarding items that are to be saved, stored, or sold, I can assist in the packing and itemizing of these items but One Drawer At A Time will not be responsible for the moving of these items. The moving, storing and disposal of any property is the sole responsibility of the client.
Refrigerator/ Freezer Upkeep
Refrigerators/freezers are a sore point with people because they easily become disorganized and it requires constant attention because of how often it’s accessed.
I can provide you with scheduled upkeep - whether it’s every 6 weeks or 6 months. We will decide on which dates work best for you to ensure you never have to remember to book an appointment for a clean.
I start by taking everything out and checking for “use by” dates and spoiled items. Shelves and drawers are also removed for cleaning. I also like to use various containers* to maximize space and to help keep your refridgerator/ freezer organzied.
In addition to the inside of your refrigerator and freezer, I offer a service to clean under and behind it to ensure the coils and fan are free of lint and dirt. Doing so can greatly improve the efficiency and life of your appliance.
Closets and Dressers
The best word for describing tackling the clothing in your closet and dressers is “purge”.
Every clothing item is removed and placed in a giant pile. From there, I will give you an honest “keep” or “get rid of” suggestion. My mission is to convince you to let go of items that no longer fit, you will never wear again, or simply are outdated.
In addition, I will teach you how to fold clothing in your dressers so that, at a glance, you can see each item to better assist you in deciding what to wear.
Pantries
Pantries are another source of frustration.
After removing everything, I will organize your pantry using various baskets, containers* and my labeller (I love my labeller!) to make finding items easy. A well-organized pantry will let you know what you are running short on and it allows you time to take advantage of sales instead of paying full price when you discover you are out of something.
